1. Decide Before You Order

McDonald’s in Japan can get really crowded, especially during lunch rush hour!
Most people only have about one hour for lunch, so try to decide your order before you reach the counter.

You can check the menu on McDonald’s Japan’s website or even use their mobile app to order faster. That way, you’ll save time and keep the line moving smoothly!

2. Use Google Translate When Ordering

The staff are super polite, but not everyone speaks English. If communication gets tricky, just open your Google Translate app. It’s the easiest way to order smoothly.

When I worked there, I saw so many customers struggle because of language barriers, this little app can save both you and the staff a lot of time.

3. Keep Your Trash Organized

One thing that surprises many visitors in Japan, you’re expected to clean up after yourself.
You’ll find separate bins for cups, plastics, and leftover drinks.
It’s part of the culture of cleanliness, so make sure to follow the local style, return your tray and sort your trash properly!

4. Try Japan-Only Menu Items!

Now for the fun part! McDonald’s Japan has unique menu items you won’t find anywhere else.
Try the Teriyaki McBurger, Ebi Filet-O (shrimp burger), or seasonal desserts like the Sakura McFloat in spring. The menu changes throughout the year, so every visit might surprise you!

5. Free Stuff You Can Get

Yes, you can actually get some freebies!
You can ask for free water, and you can also get free ketchup but you’ll need to go to the counter to ask. If you want to be polite, say:

” Mizu onegai shimasu” which means “Water, please”

Thanks for watching and enjoy your McDonald’s experience in Japan like a local!

See you next time!
